Background Information

The Rockford Road Runners club was formed on September 17, 1968.

The prime objective of the organization is the promotion and encouragement of long distance running and the education of the public as to its benefits.

In furtherance of that objective the club holds races, fun runs, educational activities, lectures, demonstrations, clinics, and social events, makes awards, and other things that may be conducive to the encouragement of running.

Membership numbers over 400, comprised of students, singles, couples, families, businesses, and other organizations.

The Rockford Road Runners is a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).
