2007 Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2007

RRR October Meeting
I. The President, Larry Ward called the meeting
to order at 6:59 PM
II. Secretary- September s secretary s report was
approved by Bill Dixon and approved by the general
membership.
III. Treasurer- Glenn Greenberg was out of town
in Berlin.
IV. President-Larry Ward reported that more mile
marks have been laid down on the paths around Harlem High
School. Equipment problems with the current time machines
were discussed and Tonya Thayer reported on software that
can be used with PDA s. She noted that the timing system
and software are easier to use. Bill Dixon moved for the
club to purchase the software at $50.00 and Steve Korn
seconded saying the club could ante up the money.
V. Vice President- Larry Swanson reported on
trail signage at Rock Cut State Park, noting that several
clubs would be involved in restoring trail markings and
missing sign posts throughout the park. He also reported
on the Hobo Run and possible changes to the Run for next
year, which included possibly having the 25K and 50K on
different days and raising the entry fees.
VI. Race Coordinator- Steve Korn noted the Jingle
Bell races have returned their applications and money to
be on the race circuit. He also reported that the Wildcats
3K race will be run Oct. 27. George Tillet also commented
that the Beloit Fall Classic will be Oct 13. Steve and
Tonya also discussed the time it takes to do data entry on
race day for big events.
VII. Communications- Norm Yarger reported he
needed newsletter articles.
VIII. Membership- Kathleen Yarger suggested the
club approach Carol Bingley about paying for her graphic
arts services in creating a club membership brochure. Bill
Dixon moved and George Tillet seconded the idea for the
brochure.
IX. Old Business-
A. There was discussion on whether the circuit
rules should remain the same for 2008. Bill Dixon moved to
keep the rules the same and Lena Verkuilen seconded the
motion.
B. It was also discussed that the officer slate
would remain the same for 2008 with the exception of the
newsletter editor.
C. Brian Fruechtenicht and Norm Yarger talked
about approaching Anne Johnson and using RVC classes as an
option.
D. Marilyn Goepfert and Scott Schallberg were
informally nominated to be the officer s nominating
committee.
X. At 7:55 PM Bill Dixon moved to adjourn the
meeting.
